The Government of Alberta is looking for feedback on the initial phases of the Next Agricultural Policy Framework, in a short survey.
NPF is a five-year (2023-2028) investment into Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector. Initial consultations are underway, on current and potential challenges and opportunities facing agriculture, and prospective priorities and vision for the next framework.
NPF follows in the footsteps of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP). CAP currently provides funding for ag programs and services including business risk management programs AgriInvest, AgriRecovery, and AgriStability.
With CAP set to expire in 2023, discussions surrounding NPF are well underway.
Some such discussions occurred in November, when federal, provincial, and territorial Ministers of Agriculture shared their vision for NPF in the Guelph Statement.
The Guelph Statement outlines the priorities and focus areas, and guiding principles for “A Vision to 2028.”
After reviewing the Guelph Statement, you have the opportunity to complete three sections in a 10-15 minute survey.
Deadline: June 5, 2022
The feedback you provide will help inform the Government of Alberta as they make “informed decisions related to the negotiation of the Next Policy Framework” and work to develop NPF programs and services in Alberta.
