Alberta Beef Producers hosted an evening with the 2022 Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA) recipients  in Three Hills, AB. Brad Dubeau, General Manager, ABP, and Chris Israelson, ESA Chair, presented Dawn and Jerry Baerg and family with an honorary gate sign, and attendees were the first to screen the award video highlighting the stewardship achievements at Ribbon Creek Ranch.

ABP would like to thank Ducks Unlimited Canada and the Nature Conservancy of Canada for supporting our efforts in environmental stewardship.

Alberta’s beef industry came together this month to host politicians in an event celebrating Alberta beef.

The inaugural Alberta Beef Industry Stampede Summit was hosted this month by Alberta Beef Producers, Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association, Canadian Cattle Association, and Western Stock Growers’ Association. It brought together beef producers, industry stakeholders, and politicians of all stripes.

Between working meetings, announcements, and the networking opportunities that followed, the Summit proved a resounding success, and we are hopeful it will return in 2023.

A big thank you to everyone who made it possible — from those who organized and supported it, to those who made attending it a priority during a busy week.

After a significant amount of work on a submission to the federal government Living Labs Initiative, Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) is extremely pleased to announce a collaborative, multi-sectoral innovation and adoption project that will benefit Alberta’s beef, forage, and cropping sectors. Through the Agricultural Climate Solutions – Living Labs program, this project has been selected to receive $8.5 million in funding over five years.

The overarching goal of the Living Labs program is to establish a Canada-wide network of regional collaboration hubs that bring together producers, researchers, and other industry stakeholders. They are focused on co-developing, monitoring, and testing beneficial management practices that may help sequester carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions directly in consultation with producers and on-farm.
